Women in the Hospitality Sector | Alison, Our Owner

This March, we're honouring some of the incredible women who are part of our team at Balmer Lawn Hotel – starting with Alison, who co-owns the hotel with her husband.

Alison began her career in the hospitality sector after graduating from university. Since then, she's gone on to become a successful and inspirational businesswoman, and has left her mark on the New Forest by striving to improve the hotel and local area.

As well as owning Balmer Lawn Hotel, Alison sits on the board of Go New Forest and is a committee member of Brockenhurst Business Association, and member of the New Forest Trust.

Women in the Hospitality Sector | Pauline, Our Sales and Revenue Manager

We're keen to grow and succeed at Balmer Lawn Hotel. Pauline, our sales and revenue manager, is instrumental in making this happen.

Pauline has amassed a long list of accomplishments throughout her career in the hospitality sector.

She now leads a team of three hard-working women, who've achieved record-breaking and award-winning results, and are a tremendous asset to our team.

Women in the Hospitality Sector | Lindsey and Kathryn

At Balmer Lawn Hotel, we take pride in our ability to host and organise a wide range of spectacular events. Our events operations manager Lindsey and her deputy Kathryn handle everything from weddings and parties to corporate events and get-togethers.

While working in the hospitality sector, these women learned skills that have helped make our customer's dreams come true.

Since joining our team, these incredible women have organised and run countless events, including 89 weddings in one year. We can't wait to see what this year has in store for us!

Women in the Hospitality Sector | Kirstie, Our Spa Manager

As a part of our dedication to providing a top-quality experience, our Saltus Spa is one of Balmer Lawn Hotel's crown jewels, thanks to Kirstie, our spa manager.

Kirstie has developed a variety of transferable skills since joining our team in 2021, which have been critical in her role.

She creates a welcoming and relaxing environment in the Saltus Spa, offering relaxing treatments that keep our guests coming back.

So far, she’s devoted more than 10 years to improving and maintaining high-quality customer service at Balmer Lawn Hotel. With her help and hard work, we've transformed our 4-star hotel into an award-winning establishment.

Recently, Maria won The Country Inns Apprenticeships Awards Apprentice of the Year, and we're very proud of her achievement.
