We’re excited to announce that we’ve reaffirmed our 2 AA Rosette rating in our hotel following a recent inspection for the 5th year running.

About Our Beresford’s Restaurant Here at Balmer Lawn Hotel and Spa
Our Beresfords restaurant is an established venue in the Brockenhurst region. We’re well-known for our quality food – with our latest restaurant awards rating from the AA highlighting our commitment to providing excellent food and drink.
Our seasonal and locally sourced ingredients complement our fine food and wine concept. We cater to a broad range of tastes and needs and strive to provide a consistently good level of quality service.
Restaurant Awards: About the AA Rosette Awards
The AA Rosette awards, an annual event, are now in their 65th year. They started in 1956 and are considered amongst the top accolades within the restaurant industry. The rating system is deemed as an award rather than a classification, with suitability being determined by AA inspectors who visit restaurants and eat meals to establish the quality of the food.
To award two rosettes, inspectors are looking for ‘excellent restaurants that aim for and achieve higher standards and better consistency.’ Alongside this, they’re looking for a restaurant where ‘a greater precision is apparent in the cooking, and there will be obvious attention to the selection of quality ingredients.’
Here at Balmer Lawn Hotel, we’re proud to say that once again we have met the criteria and are now able to proudly display the rosettes.
Restaurant Awards: What Our Manager Had to Say
Michael Clitheroe, our General Manager here at Balmer Lawn Hotel and Spa, said: “AA Rosettes are highly coveted in the restaurant industry and are a real mark and measure of quality. Having already established the Beresfords as a 2 Rosette standard restaurant, we were delighted to have that status reaffirmed this year.
“The team within our restaurant, and in turn, the restaurant industry, care so passionately about delivering excellent experiences to their guests and this is testament to that – so a huge well done and thank you to them for all of their efforts.”
We’re also celebrating our four AA Silver Star status. The AA’s Hotel Silver Star status is defined as ‘Highly recommended hotels offering a superior level of quality within their star rating, high standards of hotel keeping, in particular, hospitality, service and cleanliness, and an AA Rosette award for the quality of their food.’
